Thanks for helping us create a fun and safe environment for all to enjoy!

Below are the 7 levels of Riding we operate within when instructing.

All students MUST master each level before moving forward to the next.

These  descriptions below  are a VERY GENERAL explanation.

More detailed information can be obtained by speaking with the instructors as the student progresses.  A log is kept on each student.

ALL STUDENTS ARE CONSIDERED

A "GREENIE" FOR 1ST LESSON.

 Please do not be offended.

Its just a starting point for us.  Your very 1st lesson is an evaluation

Riding Lessons

( We DO NOT TEACH ENGLISH as of 1/1/22)

Emphasis for lessons is on safety, riding, horsemanship and proper care and tack/equipment usage. Lessons are hands-on and geared toward getting the student as independent as possible with the horse. All our lessons are primarily in a western saddle and we go thru western techniques.  We teach horsemanship and safety and basics first and then move students into specific genres as they progress or choose to.  We do NOT push for competition in each student; but we do offer competitive aspects if student chooses to compete.

Getting Started:

All lessons begin with an evaluation of student.  An evaluation is performed to assess strengths and natural abilities. This lesson will determine a basic idea for a starting point with the student and will map out specific goals.  From this point, the student might stay with the instructor or move to another one who is geared towards the student's abilities.  Below are the 6 levels we use to determine each student's abilities both on and off the saddle.  Our goal is to get each student to the red and blue levels; however, each student moves at their own pace.  The student will discuss with the instructor what they are able to perform and what level they are working on at each lesson beginning.  Then, what needs to be done for next lesson will  be discussed at the end of each lesson. The instructors will make it clear what level student is currently on and what needs to be done to move up.   The instructors also LOG IN what is done so that any instructor given can pick up lesson from that point and move student along.

NOTE:  Horses vary from lesson to lesson based upon numerous factors.  So do the instructors.  Sometimes the timing of the lesson dictates the instructor

(meaning if student has limited times and days available then that limits the instructors available.)  Usually, the instructors will be switched around when students need to meet a specific goal.  ( Read the bio of instructors to know what they specialize in).  This provides the student with the best chance for success.  Horses are also switched to promote growth and skills.  Some horses are better suited to reach specific targets than others.  Sometimes, horses are used due to availability  at that specific time (such as on a day where all horses are busy).  Some horses will be more stubborn and require more work than others.  Some  horses will have too much "GO" and the student is not able to handle them.   We want you to know that is is common as they are live animals.  Students will gain more exposure and experience from the variety.  We are NOT creating the BEST horse for our students, we are trying to bring out the BEST in our riders.  It is called an 'ALL AROUND SEAT."  Having an 'all around seat' is liberating for the riders and is the best situation for horsemanship.
